ENLARGEMENT OF 8 VIADUCTS OF THE A3 BETWEEN THE JUNCTIONS OF S. ONOFRIO AND SERRA (Reggio Calabia - Italy)

The project aim to modernize and upgrade the A3 Salerno - Reggio Calabria motorway in the section between the S. Onofrio and Serra junctions at the end of the motorway. As the existing substructures (piers, abutments and foundations) were in good condition, it appeared logical to reuse them in part, thus avoiding the expected displacement of the axis and greatly reducing the environmental impact linked to the dumping of the demolition materials.

DETAILED DESIGN CONCERNING THE RESTORATION, CONSOLIDATION AND FUNCTIONAL RECOVERY OF THE CASINO NOBILE OF VILLA TORLONIA

The ballroom of the Casino Nobile of Villa Torlonia is between the walking level at 0.30 m and the slab of the II floor at 9.04 m; it has a rectangular plan of dimensions 8.30x12.95m and two lateral galleries of 2.70 m at an altitude of 4.36m. The main structure of the floor is a dome of 11.27 m diameter with variable radius of curvature, 4.11 m of rise and is cut by 4 vertical planes with inter-axis 7.75 and 8.30 m which form a non-symmetrical sail vault.

DETAILED DESIGN OF STRUCTURAL CONSOLIDATION INTERVENTIONS AT MORERA'S GREENHOUSE IN VILLA TORLONIA

The assignment concerned the executive design of the structural consolidation work at the Serra Moresca and the annexed Tower as part of the renovation of Villa Torlonia - Law 396/90 Cod.B.3.1.1. The complex of the Serra Moresca should be read as one of the most interesting Roman examples of architecture in iron and glass. The project of the superintendence aims to trace the original structure and materials thanks to what is still visible.
